DESCRIPTION:UBERPresents … a monthly gathering of our community\nPlease join Uber Adventures\, Canyoneering California and Tim Martinez of the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy for his presentation on ‘Survival Skills and Native Plant Uses of the San Gabriel Mountains’ during our monthly community gathering.  In addition to our usual discussions\, announcements and socializing\, Tim will lecture/present on: \nIdentifying the local native plants of the San Gabriel Mountains.  Sample chia seeds\, elderberries\, and other native foods as we discuss the various medicinal\, spiritual\, and practical uses of native plants as they have been used in Southern California for thousands of years. \n*Special attention will be given to plants commonly encountered while canyoneering and their uses\, such as for medicine and rope-making.” \n[divider colorstyle=”colorstyle_1″ dividerstyle=”style_1″ paddingtop=”” paddingbottom=”” animation=”” ] \nIt is the intention of Uber Adventures to sponsor/host these community events on the 2nd Wednesday of every month (with a few exceptions for scheduling and holidays).  The purpose of these gatherings is to \n\nStay in touch with our friends … and meet new ones\nVoice community concerns: Positive\, Negative\, Constructive\nShare canyon conditions and explorations\nTalk about new gear\, techniques\nMake community announcements\n\nIn addition to the ‘casual meeting’ format of these gatherings\, we will invite: \n\nIcons & Pillars of our community to present on topics relevant to our sport\nExplorers\, publishers & beta-makers to share the magic of what they do\nManufacturers of canyoneering-specific gear to share their new designs\nLand Managers & Rangers to present on ‘perspective’ and resource management\nPhotographers and Filmmakers to screen their artwork\n…anyone who wants to present …on anything (Flash Floods\, Park Service\, SAR Challenges\, A History of Canyoneering\, Caving-The Brother of Canyoneering\, The Wet Canyons of America’s Northwest\, The Skinnies of Utah’s Southeast\, Grand Canyoneering\, or just a great story with great pictures) .. anyone interested in presenting\, give me a shout.\n\n \nUber Adventures will provide ‘Wine & Cheese’ style refreshments! \nFeel free to cross-post this event anywhere you see fit.
