UBER TESTIMONIALS

Your instructors were awesome: very nice, very prepared, very clear in their teaching, very upbeat, very qualified, and very safe and responsible.  Everyone there had a great time, including me.  Thanks again.  Greg Sater, Learn to Rappel Workshop

This was an excellent class. I’ve been Canyoneering for about 5 years but never fully gotten all of the fundamentals of Canyoneering. A very comprehensive course that enables one to competently descend canyons, even if you don’t have any experience prior. It was a really full class and didn’t skimp on anything. Klaus is an excellent teacher and always makes it fun while packing in so much information.  Alden Anderson, Technical Canyoneering Course

Awesome!  So great to learn these new skills from such a great instructor who has done so much for our canyoneering community.  After running canyons in different communities, I can truly say the training makes all the difference!  Thanks Klaus!  Angela Kennedy, Advanced Canyoneering Course

This course was FANTASTIC! It far exceeded my expectations. Klaus was an awesome instructor with an impressive knowledge of all things Canyoneering. He gives you hands on experience in several rappelling devices (and rappelling off a Munter hitch), rappel starts in several positions, self rescue, and building anchors (just to name some of the major components, the course content is far more extensive). He is an organized and patient instructor. Every second of the course is filled with either classroom or hands on experience with little down time. After Klaus’ class, I feel very confident that I could go out and be a member of a Canyoneering Meetup. I would give this class my highest recommendation possible. Klaus rocks!!!  Scott Merrill, Technical Canyoneering Course

Klaus is an amazing canyoneer and a terrific instructor; smart, funny, engaging – but most importantly knowledgeable and SAFE! He’s one of the few people I trust with my life, literally. If anyone is waffling on whether or not to attend, DO IT. I assure you you will not regret it.  Nick Brogna, Canyoneer

Klaus’ Technical Canyoneering Course is a fantastic introduction to Canyoneering for anyone who has wandered down a slot canyon and been frustrated by the first impassable waterfall – or anyone who is interested in getting started safely in the sport.  Klaus is a patient and skilled teacher with a passion for introducing people to Canyoneering.  The course is packed with information and gave me the confidence to safely navigate a real canyon.  Aside from the instruction, the class is a great experience – Klaus introduced us to the local Canyoneering community and continues to be a resource for Canyoneering and gear information.  Thanks Klaus!  Talya Havice, Technical Canyoneering Course

What an amazing instructor!  Klaus takes you to a new level in Canyoneering!  His passion for the sport is contagious!   I can’t wait to put my new skills to the test in a canyon.  Jenny Chung, Technical Canyoneering Course

Awesome course!  Very informative and hands on!  Well worth the money and the drive from Phoenix! Thank you Klaus!  Lukasz Kucharweicz, Technical Canyoneering Course

Superb!  It’s hard to believe how much material we covered, and how thoroughly we covered it in only 2 ½ days.  Klaus’ knowledge and enthusiasm for the material is unquestionable; and his ability to conduct and manage the class with the seriousness and attention to detail the material warrants, combined with good-nature and intermittent jokes and laughter, made this a truly fantastic course. Logan DeGrand, Technical Canyoneering Course

The “Learn to Rappel” class was much more informative and exciting than I could have imagined!  We went from fearing the edge to fearing we’d run out of time for another rappel!  Klaus’ love for canyoneering became contagious as the day progressed and saying that we became “hooked” is an understatement. If your inner child is nudging you to take a leap, Klaus will show you how to do it safely and professionally! Carmen Beck, Learn to Rappel Class

This is my favorite class from Uber Adventures so far.  It’s like seeing the last installment in a series … everything comes together …  I feel so much more complete in my canyoneering skills now.  I highly recommend this class for everyone … because MY life may depend on YOU someday! Brian Swanson, Canyon Rescue Course

I cannot say enough!  Thank you Steve & Klaus for an amazing, educational, inspiring, adventurous journey through canyoneering 101! Heather Huntley, Technical Canyoneering Course

This was a great course!  Steve and Klaus were super-knowledgeable and experienced and freely shared their knowledge with us.  I learned a lot – just hope I will remember it all by the time I can get back to a canyon and put it into practice! Sandy Crow, Technical Canyoneering Course

Thank you, thank you, thank you Steve and Klaus for this excellent instruction.  And thanks fellow students for enthusiasm, well-posed questions and helpfulness.  We received just the right combination of verbal instruction, demonstration and hands-on practice.  The course gave me the confidence that I will know what to do and how to do it in a canyon emergency.  Every serious canyoneer should take this course: the knowledge is both useful and fun to learn. Bill Bloomquist, Canyon Rescue Course

Klaus and Steve, what a team!  Once again, I learned so much from your instruction!  Thank you for taking the extra time for each participant to thoroughly practice each skill! Laney Heath, Canyon Rescue Course

This is the Ultimate, Ultimate Rescue Course.  Why?  Three reasons, the latest techniques and equipment, the opportunity to practice the techniques in a real-world environment–two times as both rescuer and ‘rescuee’, and instruction in Uber Adventures’ comfortable classroom for knots, mechanical advantage and conversions.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! John Caffrey, Canyon Rescue Course

This was a great course with an excellent teacher and a really great group of people. We all learned a lot and Klaus showed us how to work together as a team. Klaus is a very funny, informative, and skilled teacher. I entered this class knowing almost nothing about Canyoneering … and I learned more than I expected and had one of the funnest times ever, while learning a new sport. What a great class. Kevin Hopkins, Technical Canyoneering Course

We learned a structured approach to dealing with backcountry emergencies from an excellent instructor with more than 20 years of experience as an EMT.  After 2 days of exercises being victims and rescuers, I feel much more confident in my ability to deal with actual emergencies, effectively. Bill Inglehart, Wilderness First Aid Course

The motivation, enthusiasm and talents you bring to the table are phenomenal. Steve Morga, Colleague

Klaus is a boss to say the least.  His experience is enough to get me confident in learning skills to go canyoneering on my own, but his passion for the sport makes it all the more fun.  Couldn’t have asked for a better class and teacher. Carolyn Lieberman, Technical Canyoneering Course

Instructor Klaus Gerhart is an outdoor aficionado that is engaging, easy to understand, and fun.  Demonstrates step by step basic techniques that are necessary to ensure group safety.  He allows everyone to ask questions.  He teaches and then re-teaches hands on to allow students to be comfortable with all techniques.  Overall, this was a great introduction to the sport.  He definitely leaves his students with a memorable experience and with a desire to continue learning canyoneering.  Definitely encourage anyone interested in trying or learning something new to just go for it. Cindy Sandoval, Learn to Rappel Class

Fabulous!  Great instruction by Klaus whose knowledge is amazing! Madeline Bell, Learn to Rappel Class

Had a blast!  Klaus is a great instructor with excellent people skills.  He was able to keep the group focused and provided amazing one-on-one coaching when needed.  This introduction made me want to take the full 3-day canyoneering course.  I would highly recommend this class to others. Kevin Diggs, Learn to Rappel Class

Wow!!  This course is well worth the cost.  Almost more information than you can process but so well presented that you ARE able to process it and put it into practice.  Klaus is the man! Ron Marome, Technical Canyoneering Course

This was the funnest course I have ever taken.  If you are interested in learning about Canyoneering, start with Klaus.  He is a Canyoneering guru who clearly has a passion for teaching.  Every course topic listed was thoroughly covered.  I felt every minute of the course provided technical information and hands on learning.  He gives good attention to each of his students and either needs.  As added bonuses, he made us laugh plenty and reinforces many of his important lessons with great stories.  Highly recommended! Thanks a lot Klaus! Yvonne Lomeli, Technical Canyoneering Course

I would like to extend my gratitude for the class Klaus and Steve facilitated this past weekend.  I really cannot thank y’all enough for such an amazing time.  The curriculum, the progression of the course was spot on.  I feel exuberant when I think about the skills I learned, and the life-preserving techniques I practiced in real scenarios.  I cannot drop my smile.  The course took 13 people with general know-how and advanced them through varied obstacles and brought them to a skill-set where they were building and identifying trustworthy anchors, capable of doing self-rescue, and capable of creatively ensuring the safety of every member in the team.  Many, many thanks.  Remain being AWESOME. Clayton Bailey, Technical Canyoneering Course

Great course, full of technical knowledge and Klaus is (as EVERYONE KNOWS) passionate, knowledgeable and SHY.  Would highly recommend this course to anyone thinking about trying this sport. Penny Odom, Technical Canyoneering Course

Klaus clearly knows his stuff inside and out.  Great (reassuring!) attention to safety; thorough but not boring explanations of equipment and technique.  Awesome experience!  11 out of 10 / will do it again!  Thanks, Klaus and Alden! Allison Taylor, Learn to Rappel Class

My kids can’t stop talking about today!  They keep asking ‘when are we going to do that again?’  Thank you Klaus for your AWESOME instruction. Diana Saki, Learn to Rappel Class

This class was really informative.  It was great to cross train on all the descending devices and to build on my canyoneering toolset.  Klaus is really passionate about teaching canyoneering. I really appreciated this learning experience. Running Ron Lebfrom, Technical Canyoneering Course

….more UBER TESTIMONIALS!

I had a great time, I learned more than I expected.  Thanks Klaus and Alden. I was definitely feeling it Monday morning!! Mike Nelson, Technical Canyoneering Course

Another great course taught by Klaus with very practical challenge exercises.  The material definitely builds on the skills taught in the introductory course. Extremely fun course that was primarily hands-on training for the entire 2 days.  I just love Klaus and his humor, attitude, style of teaching and energy.  Thank you so very much Klaus and everyone else in the course for making it a blast. Yvonne Lomeli, Advanced Canyoneering Course

You couldn’t ask for a better, more experienced instructor than Klaus.  He has a real passion for Canyoneering and it shows!  He came prepared with a very detailed course outline which taught the basics of Canyoneering.  I came away with a very good understanding of the skills and principles.  The class was fun, informative and has piqued my interest to take it to the next level. David Duong, Technical Canyoneering Course

Great course with an excellent instructor. Klaus is patient and makes everything challenging and fun but most importantly safe. I don’t think he left anything out. I had a great time out there with a good group. I look forward to the intermediate/advance course. Anybody considering this course at a later date, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it. Thanks Klaus! Darin Matus, Technical Canyoneering Course

This course was great, and it was taught by an even greater guy. Klaus knows his stuff and teaches it well. After only a few days I feel like I can take on just about any canyon. I recommend this course to everyone, and I hope no one hesitates to take it. A great experience! Mark Crawford, Technical Canyoneering Course

This 3 day class was awesome. Klaus was knowledgeable and patient. His technical skills taught me confidence in building my own anchors and validating the strength of others. I enjoyed learning with this group. Klaus was able to give individual instructions to all of us. Can’t wait to get back out there. Julie Mello, Technical Canyoneering Course

Awesome course. Klaus came prepared with everything needed, taught in an easy to understand way, gave us plenty of practice with all maneuvers, and had a great spot for us to learn in. It was fun and instructive. I’m ready to go Canyoneering. Somil Viradia, Technical Canyoneering Course

This is the place if you want to LEARN!  I enjoyed the course, all thanks to the way the course was designed and yes of course, what I call the ‘Klaus Factor’!! You are a great teacher. You took the time to make each one of us comfortable and made learning a fun process rather than just boring theory!  This class gives a 360 degree view of Canyoneering to beginners. Pooja Rajendraprasad, Technical Canyoneering Course

I had attended Klaus’ last training and it was Amazing! I never expected that I will be able to do so much adventure stuff in a 2.5 day course. Klaus is a great instructor and the training was great fun and totally worth the money. Exceeded expectation!!!! Gokul Ramachandran, Technical Canyoneering Course

This is the place to learn about Canyoneering and Wilderness / Adventure topics! Chris Stoneley, Wilderness First Aid Course

Took a class this last weekend there. Klaus (the owner) brought in an experienced professional in the Wilderness First Aid/ First Responder/ EMT field to teach a Wilderness First Aid Class. I used to have an EMT basic license in LA county and I can tell you that the instructor knew what he was talking about and had great real life based tips to share. Now feel much better leading backpacking trips with some of the meetups I belong to.

The facility itself is nice. Its got a great selection of climbing gear, including equipment to custom cut climbing rope and a lushly appointed bathroom. For reals its the nicest bathroom of a business I have ever been to besides perhaps a few really high end hotels or bars.

I will be taking some Canyoonering classes through this place. Its conveniently located near a bouldering/ climbing meca just down Topanga blvd.

Most excellent job of presenting a lot of technical material in an orderly, understandable progression.  Many thanks to Steve and Klaus for their wealth of knowledge and experience and for their patient, upbeat, encouraging style of teaching.  It was good to learn the proper techniques and ways to approach canyoneering from the perspective of experienced, certified instructors while keeping the overall ‘tone’ light. David Guinnee, Technical Canyoneering Course

Awesomeness as always!  Steve and Klaus provided ‘impeccable’ guidance and instruction throughout the course. Stephen Fullerton, Canyon Rescue Course

Thanks for another set of tools, building blocks, and great instruction! Pam Foyster, Canyon Rescue Course

What a fabulous day!  Great group of people and awesome instructors!  You have got to meet these guys!  If you haven’t tried this, you’re missing out.  They are all about safety first, but they teach in a way that makes you count the seconds to rappel and canyoneer!  I’d rate this a 15 out of 10!  Can’t wait to see what else they’re cooking up! Carmen B, Learn to Rappel Class

If you’re looking to learn Canyoneering, this is likely the best place to start. Klaus is not just an expert in the sport, but he is a true teacher as well. He teaches various tools and techniques, emphasizing how to practically apply them in a canyon. This class was jam-packed with exciting, fun and useful information. I’m looking forward to my first canyon. Anne Doucette, Technical Canyoneering Course

Klaus is an excellent teacher and Uber Adventures has an excellent curriculum. In fact, this course has to be the best, most comprehensive in the industry. Klaus is extremely thorough. He not only teaches the skills, but he explains the principles behind all the techniques for Canyoneering. Conrad Wentzel, Technical Canyoneering Course

Even though I’m not a rookie, this course contained tons of new and useful information, technique instruction and skill-building that I can now use to make sure my future adventures are safer and more fun! Excellent hands-on training mixed with clear explanations of how-why-and-when we use these skills in practical situations! I feel MUCH more confident about Canyoneering now! Thanks, Klaus! Tony Ochoa, Technical Canyoneering Course

Highly recommended! Klaus is obviously passionate about teaching and uses class time efficiently. He really packs in a lot of info and gives time to practice. Great value for the money. Great fun and I learned a lot of things that are useful for other sports: emergency signals, knots, bends, hitches, etc. Rebekah Atwater, Technical Canyoneering Course

Had lots of fun here, feel like I learned a ton of stuff in just one weekend. Big shout out to our instructor, Matt, for keeping the course lively and fun while educational. David Durston, Wilderness First Aid Course

Fantastic instructors and members!  Very efficient and clear instruction and excellent training location.  I cannot wait to put skills in use and travel canyons!  Thank you Klaus and Dave for being excellent trainers and making us laugh.  Best experience ever. Miki Kanada, Technical Canyoneering Course

The effort that Klaus has put into building a community in the LA area to support canyoneering is impressive.  Unlike some other groups that do outdoor classes, Klaus has really thought through the course sequence — in terms of time commitment, pricing, and what you learn — so that each stage you are definitely getting something of value.  Also, once you have acquired the skills you have a group of people with whom you can use them.  If you’re curious about whether there is anything in canyoneering for you, take a class!  You will get your time and money’s worth, whether you stick with it or not! Richard Wheeler, Technical Canyoneering Course

This was such a fantastic course!  Klaus is an incredibly knowledgeable and fun instructor and the three days flew by.  There is a ton of information that is covered, and you definitely leave with the foundational skills and confidence needed to tackle canyons right away.  Dave was an awesome instructor as well and it was great to get exposure to his experience and expertise.  It was a wonderful experience learning from Klaus and Dave and so great getting to know new people that share similar interests! Kristy Rainwater, Technical Canyoneering Course

Klaus is very knowledgeable and can easily communicate technical instruction in a live setting.  Many people can ‘do’, but few can teach well.  Great job!  Klaus always has a great attitude and is willing to involve himself to insure you’re confidently applying what was taught.  Thanks for making this such a successful lesson!  Lots of fun! Jason Marvin, Learn to Rappel Class

This was a great class!  …these new techniques created a solid, useful, relevant curriculum that all leaders should have.  It was about using tools already learned, applications for the ‘what if’, and increasing the ability to make decisions with a bigger set of tricks and options.  Anyone leading groups will benefit from this class.  Thank you very much! Pam Foyster, Canyon Essentials Course

I’m a newbie self-taught tree climber.  But totally kneel to Klaus who is a Master with rope skills.  I couldn’t believe how Klaus managed so effortlessly to get 15 newbies to learn 15 knots from scratch!  The man is a master teacher. John Moore, Knots-Bends-Hitches Class

Klaus, amazing class!  You know your stuff and have the patience of a SAINT!  I’d recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn rappelling! Nora, Learn to Rappel Class

Incredible, amazing, fantastic!!! Highly recommended.  Klaus is simply superb.  He explained everything clearly and was able to make us feel safe, secure and comfortable — which for some of us was not easy!  He has amazing patience and sensitivity especially when standing atop a 55′ cliff! Joan Hantman, Learn to Rappel Class

I had so much fun and met some amazing people!  Klaus’ course inspires a respectful and safe Canyoneering community.  His teaching style helps you build trust and confidence in the sport so you can focus on the adventure.  I had a blast, it was worth every penny. Jana Harmon, Technical Canyoneering Course
